Welcome to the East Tennessee Council of the Blind (ETCB).

This year we will be hosting the annual Tennessee Council of the Blind Conference and Convention at the Embassy Suites Knoxville West. The dates are September 6, 7, and 8.

Dear friends,

It’s time to register for the 83^rd annual convention of the Tennessee Council of the Blind. The dates are September 6^th through 8^th. The East Tennessee Chapter is working hard to provide an interesting and informative program for us.

We will be at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Knoxville West, 9621 Parkside Dr., Knoxville, TN 37922. Room rate to TCB Members has been reduced to $169.00 per night, this is before any additional discounts are applied. At the time of check in, two discounts will be applied. The first is being provided by an anonymous donor, and the other is provided by Tennessee Council of the Blind. After both discounts are applied the member cost will be $103.70 per night. Make your room reservations at TN COUNCIL OF THE BLIND (hilton.com) or call (865) 246 – 2309. The last day to make reservations and receive the above room rates is August 10, 2024.

Registration is $75 per person and includes Saturday box lunch and the banquet. Box lunch includes bag of chips, whole fruit (apple or orange), freshly baked cookies or brownies (chef’s choice), condiment packets, sweet tea or unsweet tea. The entrée choices are BLT (bacon Lettuce and tomato), The Big Slammer (Hoagie Roll with Turkey Breast, Ham and Swiss Cheese). Or Chicken Salad Croissant (Chicken Salad on a Buttery Croissant with Lettuce and Tomato). The banquet menu meals include seasonal grilled vegetables, Herb roasted potatoes, garden salad, dinner rolls with butter, choice of Sweet Tea, unsweet tea and dessert being banana pudding or double chocolate cake. desserts will be alternated at seats. Entrée choices are Grilled chicken with Lemon Pepper sauce, or Vegetable pasta Alfredo. Additionally, the hotel offers a free made to order breakfast and a complimentary evening reception.

Plans are also being made to stream the annual auction once again this year so everyone can take part in the bidding fun. Once again Gordon Dykes and Jeannie Johnson will be conducting our annual TCB Auction on Saturday evening September 7^th. Be sure to register before August 15^th if you plan to attend the banquet, meals after August 15^th are limited and are on a first come first serve basis.
